Electrical circuits known as AC/DC converters convert ac current (AC) input into direct current (DC) output. Rectifiers are another name for AC/DC Converters, which transform the input AC voltage into variable DC voltage before optimizing it through a filter to produce an unregulated DC voltage.
Why is AC/DC Conversion important?
Typically, households receive 100V or 200V AC electricity. However, the majority of electrical equipment run at 3.3V or 5V DC. As a result, converting from AC to DC voltage is required. Many different gadgets, including laptops, mobile phones, and other kinds of portable devices, may be charged fast and efficiently using the AC to DC converters. It may also be used to change a cell phone's call charger into a standard charger.
